Sickness, maternity and time off: all staff

The guidance in this section includes both statutory requirements applicable to all employers and guidance specific to all maintained schools. The detailed guidance normally makes the distinction explicit. Academies and free schools should therefore be able to decide which parts of the guidance applies to them and to any staff transferred to them with protected salaries and conditions of service.
