Job applicants

As a job applicant the HR Services for Schools website will allow you to complete and update your online application in order to apply for vacancies.

When completing an application form we will collect the following types of personal data (please note this may be updated from time to time):

  • name and contact details
  • date of birth
  • national insurance number
  • special arrangements needed for interview
  • DfE number and statutory induction (teachers only)
  • relationship to BCC employees, BCC councillors, governors and school employees
  • any retirement and dismissal details
  • right to work information
  • criminal conviction information including results from Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
  • education and qualifications information
  • details of past and current employment including: name of employer, dates of employment and unemployment, job title, salary, reason for job change
  • reference details for previous employers
  • personal characteristics, such as:
    • nationality and ethnic group
    • religion
    • first-language
    • any special educational needs
    • any relevant protected characteristics

Information relating to personal characteristics is classed as ‘special category’ and is provided voluntarily for recruitment monitoring purposes (see Processing ‘special categories’ of personal data).
